Happy BLUE Day!
It was so nice to see everyone wearing different shades of blue today. Our class loves those special days to dress up!
We
have have been talking about the circle this month, how to draw them,
what they look like and starting to recognize them in various objects.
Today our cooking activity was pancakes!! We had some very excited
children! We mixed, stirred and poured the batter on the heated
griddle. They loved to hear the sizzle of the batter on the hot
griddle. Ask your child what shape our pancakes were in!
Our
pancakes sure smelled good when we were cooking them. Pancakes aren't
complete with out toppings!! We placed chocolate chips on our pancakes,
and turned them into snowmen. Some of us even dipped them into syrup.
Boy were they yummy!! We celebrated January birthdays, and sang Happy
Birthday to Keaton, Andi and Maile!! We also had cutie oranges brought by Hudson. Thank you, Hudson!
Our story today was "The Snowy Day" By Ezra Jack Keats. Peter wakes up
to the season's first snowfall. In his bright red snowsuit, he goes
outside and makes footprints and trails through the snow. He makes a
snowman, some snow angels and goes sliding down a hill. When its time
to go home, he makes a snowball and puts it in his pocket for the next
day. After bath time, Peter checks on his snowball. He is sad to see
that it has melted. Ask your child what Peter saw out his window the
next morning.
I hope you all have a great weekend!! See you on Monday!!
