Happy BLUE Day!
It was so nice to see everyone wearing different shades of blue today. Our class loves those special days to dress up!
We have have been talking about the circle this month, how to draw them, what they look like and starting to recognize them in various objects. Today our cooking activity was pancakes!! We had some very excited children! We mixed, stirred and poured the batter on the heated griddle. They loved to hear the sizzle of the batter on the hot griddle. Ask your child what shape our pancakes were in!
Our pancakes sure smelled good when we were cooking them. Pancakes aren't complete with out toppings!! We placed chocolate chips on our pancakes, and turned them into snowmen. Some of us even dipped them into syrup. Boy were they yummy!! We celebrated January birthdays, and sang Happy Birthday to Harper!!
Our story today was "Stella Queen of the Snow" By Marie-Louise Gay. Sam had never seen snow before. When it finally started to snow his sister Stella, took him out to play. Sam was full of all sorts of questions, and Stella seemed to have an answer for all of them.. How many snowflakes are in a snowball? Do birds get goosebumps? Why is fog coming out of my mouth? However, Stella's answers seemed a tad on the silly side. Ask your child what some of Stella's answers were.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm!
See you on Tuesday!!!
